In 1979, before the Shah regime was overthrown by the Islamic regime, the veil was not mandatory in Iran and women were given broad freedoms, such as the right to equal education with men.

In the 1960s, as the combination of western and traditional clothing, there was less open space in the body, which was replaced by a more open style in the 70s. In the popular shops and boutiques of Tehran, European fashion was closely followed, and the magazine covers were full of more openly dressed women.

These are the countries that have won the most Oscars for foreign-language films. A four-way tie for fourth place is broken by the number of total nominations a country has received.

Coincidentally or not, the country that started the Renaissance in the 14th century is also the country deemed by the Academy as most artistic in movie production. Italy won the Oscar for best foreign language film 11 times, beginning with “La Strada,” directed by Federico Fellini and most recently with Paulo Sorrentino’s “The Great Beauty.” Other awards have gone to “Life Is Beautiful” (1998), “Mediterraneo” (1991) and “Cinema Paradiso” (1989). Italy has received 28 Academy Award nominations.

Real life can be busy. And with hyper-sexual images and storylines dominating shows and movies, couples often ask: Should we be having more sex?

Though people are quick to compare themselves against others, there is no magic number when it comes to how often you should have sex with your partner, according to Mary Andres, a professor at the University of Southern California, and co-coordinator of marriage and family therapy program.
